Elden Cox - Lincoln KS

Elden Cox, 83, Ness City, died May 30, 2011 at Cedar Village Long-Term Care. He was born September 10, 1927, near Buffalo, in Wilson County, Kansas to Cornelius and Nettie (Gillespie) Cox. On December 20, 1951, he married Kathleen I. Cox in Salina.
During WW II he served in the United States Army Air Forces 30th Bomb Squadron. He was a retired cement truck driver and pipe shed superintendent for Quartzite Stone Company in Lincoln, KS. After living in Lincoln for over 60 years, he moved to Ness City to be closer to his daughter. Elden was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church and the Lincoln Golf Club, and a 46-year member of American Legion Post 165 in Lincoln.
Surviving him are: daughter Kathy Borthwick and husband Rex of Beeler, KS; sister Dessie Williams, Eudora; sister-in-law Virginia Cox, Derby; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: wife Kathleen; five brothers, Raymond, Orwin, Wheaton, Leland, and Paul; and three sisters, Madena, Elma, and Lorene.
There will be no visitation, however friends may sign the register book 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Wednesday at Hall Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:00 A.M. in the Lincoln City Cemetery with Reverend Kaye Metzler officiating.
